Ridges and summits with the family
A day and a half of hiking and a night’s camping in a magnificent setting on the ridge, at the foot of the Canigó massif overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where the views are unique and sure to fill you with wonder at any time of day. An incredible sunset and sunrise, and a hike through the heart of the mountain pastures where we’ll come across cows, sheep and horses roaming freely.
The itinerary:
Day 1 Afternoon:
Setting off from Batère, we’ll follow the classic GR10 trail, climbing along a well-maintained path to the Col de la Cirera. This is followed by a magnificent ridge walk, offering sweeping panoramic views of the peaks of the Canigó massif. The herds will no doubt accompany us. We’ll set up camp high up on the ridge, with a splendid view.
Elevation gain: 400 m.
Distance: 5 km
Day 2:
In the morning, we’ll make the most of the first rays of sunshine to enjoy more magical moments. We’ll then continue along the ridge before descending via a good pastoral path. A lovely little break at altitude, with all the ingredients for creating unforgettable memories!
