From Céret town hall, where he managed cultural affairs for many years, to the Musée d'Art Moderne, where he chaired Les Amis du Musée, Miquel Arnaudies has worked hard to promote Catalan culture. As a painter, Miquel Arnaudies showed an early interest in modern and contemporary art: in 1975, the Musée d'Art Moderne de Céret devoted its first major exhibition to him. He worked with artists such as Tapiès, Manessier, Viallat, Restany and Clancier. His painting, both poetic and committed, is rooted - often to denounce it - in the social and economic times in which we live. For many years, Miquel Arnaudies has combined his passion for painting with his work illustrating artists' books and writing novels and collections of poems.
