WATER AND MEDITERRANEAN HOUSE

The House of Water and the Mediterranean is a interpretation center cultural and scientific center dedicated to water, located in the heart of the historic center of Le Boulou. It offers an immersive, interactive tour on three levels, enabling visitors to discover water in all its forms, its role in history, science and the contemporary issues surrounding its preservation.

MISSIONS & VALUES

House of Water and the Mediterranean aims to raise public awareness of the vital importance of water, promoting its preservation and enhancing local heritage. It also contributes to the region’s tourism and economic development.

WATER ISSUES IN VALLESPIR

Located in a region crossed by the River Tech and rich in thermal springs, House of Water and the Mediterranean highlights the challenges of sustainable water management in Vallespir. It addresses issues such as the preservation of aquatic ecosystems and adaptation to climate change.

MUSEOGRAPHY

House of Water and the Mediterranean’s museography is divided into five interactive areas.

The water saga: explores the water cycle and its uses.
Sublime Mediterranean: presents marine biodiversity and environmental issues.
Catalan land : highlights local water-related heritage.
The Odyssey of our Water : tackles the global challenges of water in a fun space.
Source of well-being : dedicated to the health benefits of water.

These areas are designed to be accessible to all audiences, with content available in several languages.

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

House of Water and the Mediterranean offers educational workshops and events for all ages, designed to educate and raise public awareness of water issues. Creative activities, fun tours and immersive experiences are regularly organized.

What’s more, school groups are welcome at the House of Water and the Mediterranean to take part in fun educational workshops tailored to each level.
