"Histoire(s) de la photographie", a series of three lectures given by Marc Gourmelon, photographer and former student of the ENSP (École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie de Arles).
Saturday 15 March at 3pm: From inventions to pictorialism, photography as science and art - 1826-1890.
The first quarter of the 19th century marked a turning point in the history of representation. Saturday 5 April at 3pm: The medium of modern times - 1890-1950.
Photography assumes its own diversity: avant-garde, new objectivity, documentary style, photojournalism. Let's discover the different paths taken by this medium as it emancipated itself from painting and set itself apart.

Saturday 24 May at 3pm: Photography in the age of contemporary art 1950-2000.
Direct photography, in its various documentary or subjective forms, stands side by side with forms that have adopted the paradigms of contemporary art.
The photographic object is constantly changing, sometimes subversive, often paradoxical.
